Digital 2020 Report - Laos statistics

According to the most recent Digital 2020 report, Laos' internet, social media, and mobile use continues to rise, year on year.  In fact, it's a huge increase from last year's numbers.  Here's a close look at the numbers.

Internet users in Laos

• There were 3.10 million internet users in Laos in January 2020.
• The number of internet users in Laos increased by 188 thousand (+6.5%) between 2019 and 2020.
• Internet penetration in Laos stood at 43% in January 2020.

Social media users in Laos

• There were 3.10 million social media users in Laos in January 2020.
• The number of social media users in Laos increased by 328 thousand (+12%) between April 2019 and January 2020.
• Social media penetration in Laos stood at 43% in January 2020.

Mobile connections in Laos

• There were 5.68 million mobile connections in Laos in January 2020.
• The number of mobile connections in Laos increased by 73 thousand (+1.3%) between January 2019 and January 2020.
• The number of mobile connections in Laos in January 2020 was equivalent to 79% of the total population.
