There are not a lot of books about the performing arts in Laos. In fact, this is probably only the second book written exclusively on this topic that I've personally come across. This is written bilingually, in Lao and English. It covers the old Luangprabang dancers to modern Lao hip hop.
Moreover, it covers the organizations that are helping to pioneer contemporary dance and performance in Laos, including Fanglao Dance Company, Laobangfai Academy ສູນການສະແດງ ລາວບັ້ງໄຟ, and theater groups Khao Niew Lao and Champassak's Ipok and Bakteu Lao puppetry group.
