Lao People and the River (video)

A Lao made film documentary entitled ຄົນລາວ ແລະ ສາຍນໍ້າ / Lao People and the River (in Lao language with English subtitles) from 2008 by the Lao National Film Archive and Video Center with support from the Commemorative Organization for the Japan World Exposition.

   

It's a look at how Lao people utilize the river resources with some additional information on forestry issues and even a bit on tourism.  It's really quite interesting.   It all comes down to how reliant people are on the natural resources in Laos and the recognition of this is key.  Because hopefully this will lead to better protection of nature in the Lao PDR while still allowing for development.
