A fascinating look into the lives of the Akha ethnic minority group in Laos who live in the mountains. It's a look at their way of life, farming, dealing with opium addicts, medical health improvement, opinions on moving to the lowlands, etc. And surprisingly they have a belief that giving birth to twin babies is a sign of something bad - though that belief is changing.
A film by Martin Gronemeyer
Narrated by Rachel Clarke
Produced by Dr. Jens Kallabinski, Lao - German Program for Rural Development in Mountainous Areas of Northern Lao PDR
For GTZ/ GIZ 2004
