- Your website has been an inspiration to me. I had no idea Lao people were creating such awesome work on the web. I've told as many people, such as my friends, family and cousins about LCW, as I can. Keep up the great work!

Books: Literature & Performing Arts
From: Laos
- I am doing research on Lao literature and the performing arts. I am specifically looking for anything published in the Lao language; first for quotes and poetry and secondly, performing arts. Your suggestions would be appreciated.

There are two books that have been around for a few years and they are two of our favorites of Lao published work in the Lao language, here at LCW. I think they can be considered classics and well known among those interested in Lao literature. They are:

  • Suphaseet Bulahn by Maha Sila Viravong (1961, 1996, 2000)
  • Payayoiy by Maha Bounyog Sensountohn (1996, 2000)

For a book specifically on the performing arts. There is a book written by a Lao female writer on this specific topic. She explores each area of the Lao performing arts ranging from puppetry to dance to music to a few chapters on culture and history (12 chapters in all). Details below:

  • Lgsana Saht Kong Vatanatum by Buaban Vawlasoun (1998)
