Inter-Racial
Relationships
From:
USA
- I'm in
a inter-racial relationship, how should
differences
be handled?
Reply:
To answer
your question, these issues should be handled carefully. When
two people are from different backgrounds there will always
be difference of opinion, religious beliefs, cultural beliefs, etc. It's important to keep communicating because the other
person may simply not know which reasoning you're using when
it comes to certain things. Everyone has their own way of thinking, set of beliefs they grew up with and so fouth.
Ultimately
you are together because you love each other. Those differences
and nuances in each other are probably what helped to get
you two interested in each other in the first place. Remember
to always respect each other and his/her culture.
Living
in multicultural societies such as those in Canada, America,
and even Laos, interracial/cultural relationships are bound
to occur - it is completely normal. When differences arise,
remember to talk it out and be patient with one another.
Internet
in Laos
From: USA
- Is
there internet access in Laos?
Reply:
Before
travelers go to foreign countries they're always interested
to know whether there is access to the internet.
In Laos
the answer is yes. However at the time of this writing, it is very limited when you compare
it to its neighbors such as Thailand and Vietnam. In those
countries internet cafes are everywhere. In Laos, there are
a few places or internet cafes that allow usage based on the
time used. Most of these internet places happen to be owned
by non-Lao foreigners as well.
Internet
access is mostly available in the main city areas in internet
cafes and some higher end hotels. Be advised though, that
it is rare or basically non-existent in the more rural or
less populated areas.
Those
that do have internet access are generally foreign owned businesses,
government, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
It should be noted that internet use is growing among the Lao population in Laos.
